Clamping irregular pieces for gluing
I’ve never seen any furniture maker use this clamping technique, but it’s one that we always used while installing millwork on jobs during my pre-retirement days. I find it a very useful and I use it a lot. Packing tape!! It doesn’t damage any edges and can be made to pull in whatever direction you need to clamp. Stuck and stretched tightly, its clamping possibilities are endless. Think miters and butt joints that are epoxied, to say nothing of a weird shaped crest rail on the back of a chair.
A few stools for the holidays
Made a few stools, mostly from cutoffs, as gifts for the holidays.
and a coffee table in cherry
new bench and shed
This year I decided to upgrade and organize my shop. Priorities became a new bench (@Benchcrafted plans and hardware) and a shed to expand storage. The bench is maple with a 4” thick top, a leg vise, an end vise and bubinga highlights.
Shed is 8’ x 10’ w/2 reclaimed windows, a Cat In The Hat relief carving, and a sled.
